The polisario, which has set up its bases in southern Algeria, systematically uses minors under 18 years of age as "child soldiers, whom it trains, dresses in military uniforms and equips with lethal weapons" to incorporate them into its armed militia or to use them in propaganda actions such as the so-called "Holidays in Peace" program.

Ecuador reaffirmed, before the 4th Committee of the UN General Assembly in New York, its support for a mutually acceptable political solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2602.

Luxembourg considers the autonomy plan, presented in 2007 by Morocco, as "a good basis for a solution accepted by the parties" regarding the Sahara issue.
