Ambassador Omar Hilale, Morocco's Permanent Representative to the UN, warned in New York against the collusion between Iran, Hezbollah and the armed separatist group "polisario" to destabilize the North African and Maghreb region.

Gabon, which holds the presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of October, reiterated Thursday in New York its support for the Moroccan autonomy initiative to end the regional dispute over the Sahara.

The United States reaffirmed, Thursday at the UN Security Council, its support for the Moroccan autonomy plan as a "serious, credible and realistic" solution to definitively close the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

The Kingdom of Morocco welcomes the adoption today by the UN Security Council of resolution 2654 on the Moroccan Sahara issue, which renews the mandate of MINURSO for one year, until the end of October 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates said on Thursday.
