The autonomy project proposed by Morocco to grant substantial autonomy to its southern provinces, the Sahara, is a "bold initiative" that would put an end to the Sahara dispute, said visiting Djibouti Foreign minister, Ali Youssouf.

 The United Nations Security Council adopted on Wednesday a resolution calling on the parties in the 32-year-old Sahara conflict to engage in substantive negotiations, and extending, for one year, the mandate of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Sahara (MINURSO).

Several US congressmen voiced, here Monday, their appreciation of the autonomy project, which Morocco proposes for southern provinces.
