There is no link between regionalisation and the autonomy proposal put forward by Morocco for its southern provinces, the Sahara, Abdelhamid El Ouali, member of the Advisory Committee on regionalization, said.

Morocco's autonomy project for the Sahara is a political solution which is in conformity with the international legality and in line with the principle of self-determination since it gives broad prerogatives to local populations, Egyptian news agency MENA said on Saturday.

Algeria is responsible for the situation in the camps of Tindouf (southwest Algeria) as a host country that should ensure that the population of these camps enjoys their rights including the liberty of movement and the right to work, said the Chairwoman of the American Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), Lavinia Limon.

 Morocco's proposal to grant broad autonomy to its southern provinces, the Sahara, is "imbued with wisdom," contrary to Algeria's "rigid" attitude, President of the Algerian Movement for the Autonomy of Kabylie (MAK), Ferhat Mehenni, said.
