The Moroccan delegation expressed its "extreme disappointment" with polisario's refusal to discuss the issue of human rights as part of UN-brokered informal talks on the Sahara, Morocco's Foreign Minister Taieb Fassi Fihri said on Wednesday in Malta.

A delegation from the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), is participating in the 16th session of the UN Human Rights Council, which is currently taking place in Geneva.

The new round, the sixth since August 2009, will be attended by representaives of Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and polisario.

The next informal talks on the Sahara, at the invitation of the United Nations Secretary-General's Personal Envoy Christopher Ross, will be held in Malta on March 7-9, UN Spokesman Martin Nesirky said on Thursday.

The Moroccan autonomy initiative for the southern provinces "is not one of options, but rather the definitive solution" to settle the Sahara issue, the Spanish journalist and wrtier Chema Gil has said.
