The Republic of Madagascar welcomed on Thursday "the serious and credible efforts by Morocco" to find a final solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

France reiterated on Tuesday its consistent position on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, stressing that the autonomy plan is a serious and credible basis for a negotiated solution.

The European Commission "takes very seriously the problem of the misuse of humanitarian aid" to the camps in Tindouf, in Algeria, said Christos Stylianides, European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid.

The European Parliament rejected Thursday (November 24th) a new maneuver of a Green MEP who wanted to introduce a text hostile to the rights of Morocco on Sahara in a report subject to a vote in committee.

Morocco and eight other Arab countries, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Sultanate of Oman, Jordan, Yemen and Somalia, withdrew from the 4th Arab-African summit Held in Equatorial Guinea.
