French Foreign Minister, Bernard Kouchner, said Morocco's proposal to grant autonomy to its southern provinces, the Sahara, "deserves to be discussed seriously," adding that the option of a referendum "has not worked so far."

"Al Moharir Al Arbi" weekly appearing in Beirut, criticized the position of Algeria regarding the issue of Morocco’s territorial unity, stressing that through its support to the Polisario, Algeria positioned as "part of separatism, fragmentation and disintegration of ranks".

Algeria is still attached to past complexes, including the " Moroccan complex" and the obsession of regional hegemony, when terrorists have changed their methods and strategies, stressed Monday the Lebanese daily "Al-Mostaqbal.

 The Spanish Popular Party (PP) on Friday regretted the "radicalization" of the Polisario Front and warned that the Sahara conflict "could exhaust the international community."

 The United Nations Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for the Sahara, Peter van Walsum, has criticized the Spanish civil society for having encouraged "Polisario" to bank on independence and contributed to "prolonging the agony" of the people held in the Tindouf camps (southwest of Algeria).
