The Six countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) reaffirmed their constant positions in support of the Moroccanness of the Sahara and the Kingdom's territorial integrity, during the C24 ordinary session in New York.

Last Thursday, the relevance of the autonomy plan presented by Morocco as a solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara was highlighted in Barcelona during a roundtable that brought together Moroccan and foreign diplomats, parliamentarians, academics, and students.

Leading British newspapers gave extensive coverage on Monday to the UK government’s landmark decision to support Morocco's autonomy plan aimed at resolving the regional conflict over its territorial integrity.

The support expressed by the United Kingdom for Morocco's autonomy plan for the Sahara heralds a new era of strengthened and mutually beneficial partnership between Rabat and London, said Joe Powell, a Labour member of the House of Commons (the lower house of the British Parliament).

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, held, on Monday in Rabat, talks with a British parliamentary delegation from the House of Commons and the House of Lords, providing an opportunity to express thanks and appreciation for the UK’s position towards the autonomy proposal as “the most credible, realistic, and pragmatic basis for a lasting solution to the conflict and the consolidation of stability in North Africa.”
