Morocco's intervention to end the obstruction of civil and commercial traffic at El Guergarate border post received wide support, especially in Africa where several countries have affirmed their support for the " legitimate ”and“ peaceful ” response of the Kingdom and strongly condemned the illegal and provocative actions of Polisario separatists.

During this phone conversation, HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani welcomed the decisions taken by HM the King to restore the situation in the region of El Guerguerat in the Moroccan Sahara and commended the Sovereign for the positive results of these decisions which allowed to reopen the crossing for the safe movement of people and goods.

Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, expressed the support of the GCC countries for the measures taken by the Kingdom of Morocco to ensure the normal movement of goods and people in the buffer zone of Guerguarat.

The buffer zone of Guerguarat is calm, two days after the intervention of the Royal Armed Forces to kick out the militias of the "Polisario".

The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) set up, on the night of Thursday to Friday, a security cordon in order to secure the flow of goods and people across the Guerguarate buffer zone, linking Morocco to Mauritania, a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces said on Friday.
