Spain is called upon to rethink its position on the Sahara issue in the new geopolitical context marked by the decision of the United States to recognize the sovereignty of Morocco over the southern provinces, former Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo said.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey lauded on Tuesday the Kingdom's efforts to reach a negotiated political solution to the regional dispute over the issue of the Moroccan Sahara.

The decision of Spain to "roll out the red carpet (…) to the leader of the separatists, is a pure and simple offence made to Morocco", underlined the President-Founder of the Crans Montana Forum, Jean-Paul Carteron, pointing out that the Iberian country, by this decision, has put itself "in a position that we can hardly understand".

Morocco is a reliable country, which takes the fight against illegal migration "very seriously" and which "provides solutions that are costly", said the French ambassador in Rabat, Helene Le Gal.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, held talks, Friday by videoconference, with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Central Africans Abroad of the Central African Republic (CAR), Sylvie Baïpo-Temon.
