The Moroccan southern provinces are "an integral part of the territory of the Kingdom of Morocco", said Saturday in Marrakesh the Comorian Minister of External Relations and Cooperation in charge of the Arab world, Mohamed Bakri Abdoulfatah Sharif.
“In the Comoros we consider the Sahara an integral part of the territory of Morocco and we are committed to this principle," said Mr Sharif to the press after a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Saad El Dine Otmani, on the sidelines of the fourth Monitoring Meeting of Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV).
He said that the Comorian president, Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi, reiterated last year in New York before the UN General Assembly the support for the territorial integrity of Morocco.
In addition, the Minister of the Comoros said he discussed with Mr. El Otmani excellent bilateral relations and ways to promote them even more in various fields.
