Morocco and Brazil have stressed Wednesday that the Sahara issue requires parties to "continue to exercise political will, realism and a spirit of compromise" and carry out "resolutely more substantive negotiations" for the settlement of this issue.



According to the minutes of the first session of the Joint Moroccan-Brazilian Committee, held Tuesday and Wednesday in Rabat, the two countries noted that the Sahara issue also requires parties to "work in an atmosphere conducive to dialogue in order to conduct more strongly substantive negotiations and ensure the implementation of resolutions adopted by the Security Council ".

Morocco and Brazil have also said that the Security Council noted in its resolutions 1754, 1783 and 1813, the Moroccan initiative to negotiate a statute of autonomy for the Sahara region and described as "serious and credible" efforts made by Morocco.
