The Conservative Party praises the initiative of Moroccan autonomy and shows esteem and special understanding to the efforts by Morocco to ensure the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the Sahara region, "said Senator Efrain Cepeda, during an interview with Morocco's ambassador to Colombia, Mr. Mohamed Khattabi Wednesday at the party’s headquarters, founded 158 years ago.
Reaffirming that his party supported in 2000 recognition withdrawal of the pseudo "SADR" by the government of the former Colombian president Andres Pastrana, the senator stressed that his party remains convinced that separatism does not serve groups; they serve only selfish and unscrupulous individuals.
The Colombian senator has expressed his solidarity with Morocco, saying he understands the legitimate position of the Kingdom to complete its territorial integrity.
Mr. Efrain Cepeda also stressed that Morocco is a model of development in terms of reforms and many social projects it has implemented for the well-being of its inhabitants.
The meeting between Mr. Efrain Cepeda and Khattabi took place in the presence of the party members, Mr. Diego Arango, academician and president of the Teleamiga TV channel, Maria Eugenia Correa Olarte, vice-dean of the University La Grande Colombia and former minister of education, and Soraya Glavis Cobo, counselor in charge of the Party’s international relations.
