Mr. Garcia Torbay, member of the Colombian National Assembly said in a statement to the press after the meeting, that the talks with Mr. Khallihenna tackled various aspects of good relations between the two countries and ways to support them.
He added that the meeting with Mr. Khallihenna dealt extensively with the Moroccan initiative to negotiate autonomy in the southern provinces under Moroccan sovereignty, as well as the importance of the UN resolution No. 1754 on the Sahara. Mr Torbay expressed in this regard the "solidarity" of the Republic of Colombia.
"Our position is fully consistent with the position of the Moroccan government" relating to Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara, he added.
The parliamentary delegation arrived to Morocco for a 11 day working visit until May 11 and expected to meet with a number of Moroccan officials.
