France reiterated on Friday its support for the Moroccan autonomy plan, after Morocco’s decision to withdraw its confidence in the UNSG personal envoy for the Sahara Christopher Ross, calling for a “swift settlement of the dispute”.

Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid received Mr. Edward Ngoyai Lowassa, Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs and Defense at the National Assembly of Tanzania, who is paying a working visit to Morocco, heading a large delegation.

Resolution: Tindouf camps population census has become political necessity not only a moral imperative or international legal responsibility

 The Kingdom of Morocco noted with satisfaction the unanimous adoption, on Tuesday, by the U.N. Security Council members, of the Resolution 2044 on the Moroccan Sahara issue.

The EU encourages all parties involved in the Sahara issue to work towards finding a lasting political solution to this regional dispute by showing sense of realism.
