Major Event

The family visits exchange operation, led by the High Commissioner for Refugees (HCR), among Tindouf camps, in Southern Algeria and the Southern provinces of the Kingdom, was followed, Friday, by the organization of the 23rd trip during 2008, from and towards Oued Eddahab and Aousserd provinces.



49 beneficiaries belonging to 8 families participated in this exchange, indicates a press release of the Moroccan Coordination Bureau with the Minurso

Thus, four families composed of 23 persons originating from Oued Eddahab and Aousserd provinces went, Friday morning at 05h40min, aboard a UN aircraft, at Dakhla airport, towards Tindouf camps, before that four families composed of 26 persons, coming from these camps, landed from the same plane, at 12h05mn, notes the same source.

The same source stresses that this exchange took place from the Moroccan side in good conditions and all the clauses were taken to ensure a good reception of the participants and facilitate their use procedures, at the level of the boarding and disembarkation airport
While reiterating its satisfaction regarding the achievement of this operation, the Moroccan Coordination Bureau calls the HCR to scrupulously respect the clauses of the action plan governing trust measures and to preserve the humanitarian character of this programme. 

Via this exchange, the total number of persons having benefited from the family visits since March 5th, 2004, has reached 6.341 persons (1.719 families) of which 3.305 persons (817 families) coming from Tindouf camps and 3.036 persons (902 families) from the Southern provinces
