This solution constitutes a credible and realistic alternative in settling this regional conflict, because it is in line with international law, the United Nations Charter and Security Council resolutions and the relevant United Nations General Assembly.
The diplomat also reiterated his country's support for the ongoing political process under the auspices of the United Nations Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy for the Sahara, which aims to reach a realistic, practical, lasting and consensus-based political solution to this regional conflict, as stipulated in the 18 Security Council resolutions adopted since 2007.
He said that the settlement of this dispute "will undoubtedly contribute to the stability and security of the Sahel region."
On the other hand, Burkina Faso noted the huge investments being pumped into the southern provinces of the Kingdom for the benefit of the Moroccan Sahara population.
