A series of Franco-Moroccan meetings on development actions at work in the southern provinces and the many potentialities they contain will be held September 19 to 24 in Guelmim, Tan-Tan, Smara and Laayoune, under the theme "out of ambiguity".


The 4th edition of these meetings will focus on sustainable human development programs in the economic, scientific, cultural, tourism and urban planning, says Ribat Al Fath Association, co-organizer of this event with the France-Morocco Peace and Sustainable Development Foundation, in the southern regions of Morocco (Moroccan Sahara) and Bordeaux and its region.
Articulated around economic, cultural and agricultural issues, these meetings will discover the urban, industrial and tourism development programs, as well as the extraordinary achievements that the regions of the south of the Kingdom which, once desert, have become "today, and for three decades, a space of life, production, innovation and affirmation of their belonging to the motherland.

A host of experts, academics, elected officials and economic and institutional actors Moroccan and French will provide their insights and their strong and eloquent support to the effort made in these regions by the Moroccan state, as well as their know-how to improve the performance in certain sectors and investment opportunities.

The work of these meetings will be punctuated by at least four conferences and two symposia that, for five days, will attempt to shed light on the economic, agricultural and tourism potential of the southern provinces.

The inaugural session will take place on September 19 in Guelmim, under the sign "the development plan of the Region Guelmim Oued Noun", followed by a guided tour on the restoration program of the medina of Guelmim and a visit to some industrial facilities and cooperatives. The next day, participants will take part in a conference on "the development of land products.

Tantan will host, September 21, a conference on "the development of seafood", which will be followed by a visit to port facilities and industrial establishments. The next day, participants will be expected in Smara where they will attend a first conference on "the slate stone of Smara, varieties and recovery in the art of construction and creation", punctuated by exchanges with representatives of local cooperatives.

In the afternoon, they will follow at the headquarters of the Commune of Smara a presentation on the development plan of the city and investment opportunities it conceals, before continuing with a second conference on "camel breeding, health security and veterinary research approved. Cultivation in desert areas, valorization of meat and milk.

The next day, September 23, participants will take part in a symposium on "the dialogue between civilizations and religions", led by the President of the Association Ribat Al Fath, Abdelkrim Bennani, the Secretary General of the Rabita Mohammadia of the Ulemas of Morocco, Ahmed Abbadi, the President of the Jewish community of Rabat, David Toledano, and Hubert Seillan, President of the France-Morocco Foundation.

September 24, participants will head to Laayoune for a conference on the theme of "overcoming ambiguity".

This meeting will be led by a host of speakers, including the director of the Development Agency of the South, the director of the Development Agency of the Southern Provinces, as well as economic operators, diplomatic representatives, Consuls General and Consuls, in office in Laayoune and Dakhla, and representatives of the French Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Region.

In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to follow a presentation by Mr. Hubert Seillan on his book "The Moroccan Sahara, space and time", a work published by "La Croisée des Chemins" where the author draws the Moroccan identity of the Sahara "without apriori", using Geography and History.
