"We welcome the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative that would lead to a final settlement of this dispute, under the aegis of the United Nations, as endorsed by decision 693, adopted at the African Union Summit of Nouakchott dated 2018", said the Congolese ambassador, in a speech before the C24 regional seminar for the Caribbean, which is being held in Dominica.
The diplomat added that his country encourages "the final settlement of this regional dispute in a spirit of compromise for a political, realistic, pragmatic and lasting solution".
"We call on all parties to relaunch the political process, in accordance with the relevant provisions of resolution 2548 (2020), adopted on October 30, 2020 by the Security Council," he added at this UN meeting which is being held from August 25 to 27.
The C24 regional seminar for the Caribbean is being held in a context marked by the resounding diplomatic successes achieved by the Kingdom, which enshrines the Moroccanness of the Sahara.
