 A symposium under the theme: "Moroccan Sahara: historical and political genesis of the factitious conflict and the way to the solution", held on March 23 and 24 in Agadir, at the initiative of the "As-Sahra" association.
This meeting, held in hybrid format, will be attended by a host of researchers, politicians, media representatives from several regions of the Kingdom and former leaders of the "polisario" who have returned to the motherland, said the association in a statement.
"This event is part of the efforts of civil society to defend the Moroccan Sahara, a decisive issue that has experienced significant positive developments in favor of the just cause of the territorial integrity of the country both within the camps of Tindouf and at the regional and international levels, "noted the same source.
The symposium includes important themes, including "the historical roots of the Algerian position hostile to the territorial integrity of Morocco from the beginning of the conflict to the present time", "the Moroccan political parties and the national cause", "the serious involvement of Morocco in the solution of the conflict and the importance of its autonomy initiative to end the artificial dispute over the Sahara", "misinformation about the issue of the Moroccan Sahara: case of the Algerian press", "the new media and their role in orienting international opinion on the Moroccan Sahara cause", "the international press and its role in denouncing human rights violations in Tindouf" with the screening of a documentary entitled "From Tindouf to Laayoune, Tariq Al Karama (the way of dignity)" by the Spanish journalist Patricia Medjidi Juez.
