Some 2,181 students from Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra enrolled at Ibn Zohr University in Agadir to take the postponed exams of the normal spring session for the 2019-2020 academic year, respecting scrupulous health protocol aimed at combating the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).


The Higher School of Technology (EST) of Laâyoune has been welcoming since last week candidates who continue their studies at the faculty of legal, economic and social sciences (731 students), faculty of sciences (531), faculty of Sharia law of Ait Melloul, in addition to 31 students enrolled in the faculty of Sharia law in Fez.
About 748 students from the Faculty of Letters and Humanities and 126 from multidisciplinary faculty of Smara will take the university exams next week.
This initiative is part of a large relocation movement initiated by Ibn Zohr University in order to guarantee the sustainability of higher education and establish equal opportunities between all students who have the possibility of choosing the center of examination closest to their home to avoid travel to other regions, director of EST Laâyoune, Ahmed Rguibi Idrissi, told MAP.


He assured that the examinations have taken place so far in "good conditions", noting that the educational and administrative executives have ensured the optimal implementation of preventive measures aimed at combating the spread of Covid-19 .
This protocol relates in particular to the permanent sterilization of examination spaces and rooms, delimitation of passages and installation of the necessary signage, in addition to taking temperatures, compulsory wearing of masks, disinfection and cleaning of hands, and respect for social distancing.
Since September 9, more than 450 students from the region enrolled at the Cadi Ayyad University (UCA) of Marrakech  in a nearby center of Laâyoune, postponed exams of the normal spring session of the Basic License under the 2019-2020 academic year.
