“Dakhlaconnect.com”, dedicated to investment promotion and territorial marketing, was presented on Friday at the headquarters of the wilaya of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, with the aim of setting up a bridge between businesses, investors, customers and potential suppliers.


Funded by the Office of Near East Affairs (NEA) at the United States Department of State, in partnership with the United States Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), this platform aims to promote Dakhla's economic assets, with the aim of exploring opportunities for exchange and economic collaboration nationally and internationally in several key sectors, such as agriculture, renewable energies, tourism, logistics and fishing.


Implemented by the international consulting and design office JE Austin Associates, based in Washington DC, specialized in the management and implementation of economic development projects around the world and whose regional office in Rabat, this portal will bring together the database of companies in the region with a complete data sheet, via an innovative search engine allowing the search and location on the map of any socio-economic entity in the city.


“Dakhlaconnect.com” is divided into three main phases, namely the development of a digital platform the marketing and promotion of investment opportunities, as well as the organization of B2B events, with the involvement of local players, including the region's wilaya, the Regional Council, the private sector, Chambers of Commerce, banks and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).


This consultation meeting dedicated to the presentation of this platform was an opportunity to highlight components and specificities of this digital portal aimed at identifying the expectations of different actors, by allowing the collection of data relating to infrastructures and operational companies in Dakhla and infrastructure.
In a statement to MAP, the director of the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, Mounir El Houari stressed that this first platform dedicated to territorial marketing uses the latest technologies highlighting the tourist assets and economic potential of the region, noting that all the data is geolocated on the interactive map of the city.
This platform  will ultimately become a must for any investor wishing to invest in the region, specifying that this portal will be subject to periodic updating of sectoral or macroeconomic data.
This meeting was marked by the presence of the wali of the region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, governor of the province of Oued Eddahab, Lamine Benomar, president of the Council of the region, El Khattat Yanja, presidents of the professional chambers and heads of external services.
