Protective masks have recently been distributed to fishermen in the port of Dakhla, help comply with the preventive measures decided by the authorities to curb the spread of the new coronavirus (Covid-19).


Supervised by the Association for the Search and Rescue of Human Life at Sea in Dakhla, in coordination with local authorities, this initiative is part of the support of efforts deployed nationally and locally to better implement precautionary measures aimed at stemming this pandemic.


The operation of free distribution of masks to seafarers at the port of Dakhla, initiated also in coordination with the Moroccan Red Crescent in Dakhla , was an opportunity to educate fishermen about the importance of wearing protective masks in fighting the spread of the virus.
Practical advice was given on this occasion on the correct use of these masks.
Seafarers have also been made aware of this pandemic and need to respect the preventive measures taken to preserve their health and safety, as well as the importance of respecting the necessary hygiene standards and using means of sterilization before accessing boats.
This initiative was won over by fishermen who affirmed their commitment to efforts to combat the spread of the pandemic of the new coronavirus.
At the same time, volunteers of this association carried out disinfection operations on vehicles accessing the port and distributed brochures on good hygiene practices.
