 Morocco and the European Union (EU) reiterated, on Wednesday in Brussels, their support for the United Nations political process aimed at achieving a just, realistic, pragmatic, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution to the Sahara issue, based on compromise in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions, in particular resolution 2494 of 30 October 2019.
A joint statement issued at the end of a meeting between Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, vice-president of the European Commission, and Nasser Bourita, minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, stresses that the EU High Representative "took positive note of Morocco's serious and credible efforts to this end, and encouraged all parties to continue their commitment in a spirit of realism and compromise".
