Speaker of the National Assembly of Gabon Faustin Boukoubi reiterated, on Monday in Rabat, his country's unwavering support for Morocco's territorial integrity.


"Late Omar Bango supported the Green March in the 1970s and, since then, we have continuously supported the territorial integrity of the Kingdom," said Boukoubi in a meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib El Malki, welcoming the return of Morocco to the African Union. According to a press release from the House of Representatives, Boukoubi, who is on a friendship and working visit to the Kingdom along with a large delegation, stressed that Morocco has a major role in Africa and, without the Kingdom, the African action cannot be successful." He expressed the will of his country to consolidate economic and commercial cooperation with Morocco and to intensify the sharing of experiences and expertise in the ecological and parliamentary fields, assuring that the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two legislative institutions will institutionalize their relationship and give them new impetus. For his part, El Malki praised, in the presence of the presidents of the two parliamentary friendship groups, the solid and exceptional relations between the two countries, on the basis of trust and mutual support, under the aegis of the two heads of state, highlighting the depth and multitude aspects of cooperation in vital areas, such as agriculture, industry, mining and training. At the end of these talks, the two officials signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing political, economic, cultural and scientific relations between the two countries.
