"France supports the solution of broad autonomy proposed by Morocco," said Mr. Cambon, chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces in the French Senate, which also welcomed "the two rounds talks held in Geneva under the auspices of the United Nations ".
"I think it's good for the United Nations to take up its responsibilities and to move this dialogue forward, because only through dialogue we achieve peace," he said in a statement to MAP after a meeting of the France-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group.
The delegation of the friendship group made a visit Wednesday to agricultural production units in the province of Taroudant, as part of a trip to Morocco started earlier this week in Dakhla to learn about economic potential and investment opportunitiesin the Dakhla-Oued-Eddahab region.
In this regard, the French senator indicated that the delegation went to Dakhla to take the measure of the actions that, under the aegis of HM King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan government leads to assure the local populations the good conditions of life, economic development and security.
The delegation noted "enormous changes", he said, rejoicing that the tourist vocation of this region is affirming that the preservation of its environment is one of Morocco's priorities.
