A Moroccan delegation will travel to Geneva on March 21-22 at the invitation of the UN Secretary General's Personal Envoy for the Moroccan Sahara, Horst Köhler, to participate in a 2nd "round table" discussions, alongside Algeria, the "polisario" and Mauritania, according to a statement by the ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.


This 2nd "round table" discussions will be held in accordance with the provisions of the latest Security Council resolution (2440), adopted on 31 October 2018, which stipulates that the purpose of the political process is to "achieve a realistic, practicable and enduring political solution based on compromise", says the same source.


This resolution encourages all participants in the "round table" discussions, Morocco, Algeria, the "polisario" and Mauritania, "to work constructively with the Personal Envoy, in a spirit of compromise, throughout the duration of this process, to ensure a successful outcome," the statement adds.


The Moroccan delegation led by Nasser Bourita, minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will include Omar Hilale, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Nations in New York, Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid, president of the Laäyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Yenja El Khattat, president of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, and Fatima El Adli, community actor and member of Smara's municipal council.
