"Peace and Security Council of AU, manipulated for years by Algerian Smail Chergui, will no longer be able to mention Sahara issue ... African Union has no legitimacy to do so"
The Honorary President and Founder of the Crans Montana Forum, Jean-Paul Carteron, welcomed the absence of any mention of the Moroccan Sahara in the final report of the 32nd AU Summit, noting that the Union "is entering the paths of wisdom, objectivity and therefore credibility ".
"It is finally clear that the African Union Peace and Security Council, which has been manipulated for years by the Algerian Smail Chergui, will no longer be able to talk about the Sahara issue.
The African Union has no legitimacy to do so, " said Carteron in a forum addressed to MAP.
The founding president of Crans Montana forum focused, in this sense, on the maneuvers of the Algerian diplomat who "used for years his position to lead a partisan politics unrelated to what should be the action of a International organisation".
