Croatia supports all Morocco's "serious" and "credible" efforts to reach a political solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, said, Friday in Rabat, Croatian deputy Prime minister and Foreign minister, Marija Pejcinovic Buric.

In a statement to the press following her meeting with minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, the Croatian official said that her country aligns itself with the European Union's position on the Moroccan Sahara issue, noting that Croatia praises the relaunch of the UN-led process and supports the efforts of the UN secretary general, Antonio Guterres and his personal envoy for the Sahara, Horst Kohler.

She also expressed the wish to see "this new momentum create a positive dynamic" to find a solution to the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, which will be "beneficial for regional stability and prosperity".

Pejcinovic Buric is on a three-day working visit to Morocco (7-9 February) leading a large delegation of businessmen and economic operators active in the renewable energy and military industry sectors, as part of the regular dialogue and consultation between Morocco and Croatia as well as their common willingness to give new impetus to their bilateral ties.
