CFCIM is determined to accompany advanced autonomy in the Sahara and is aimed at investors in Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa

The economic field in Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra was enriched by the announcement on Tuesday of the creation of a delegation of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco (CFCIM) with the objective to strengthen ties with economic operators in the southern provinces and ensure that this structure is anchored in the region.

The creation of this branch was announced during a communication and exchange meeting organized by the CFCIM with economic actors, local officials and representatives of elected bodies in the Laayoune-Sakia-El Hamra region.

"The creation of this delegation in Laayoune, just a month and a half after a first visit by the CFCIM in the southern provinces, reflects the interest and importance the Chamber in this region", stressed the president of the CFCIM, Philippe Ederne Klein.

Mr Klein pointed out, in this sense, that the opening of this branch will "promote the region's assets to investors, particularly French and Moroccans, and accompany economic operators in the region".

While noting that the southern provinces constitute an area of investment and sustainable development, he noted that the creation by CFCIM of a branch in Laayoune stems from its will to contribute to the development of the region and its socio-economic development.

In addition, CFCIM Director General, Philippe Confais, welcomed the creation of a delegation in Laayoune.

"With the opening of this branch, CFCIM is taking a major step forward," he said, highlighting the House's determination to accompany King HM Mohammed VI's vision of regionalization through an implementation in every region.

Mr. Confais also gave an overview of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco as "a non-profit, 100% self-financed Moroccan foreign association".

"With a presence of approximately 104 years in Morocco, this chamber is the first French Chamber of Commerce and Industry abroad," he said, noting that the CFCIM is "deeply rooted in its environment, insofar as it enjoys a high level of confidence in authorities, companies and institutions, both French and Moroccan ".

First in the number of member companies and employees, but also in the package of services, the chqmber is "able to accompany companies, in Morocco and Africa, especially sub-Saharan Africa".

During this meeting, which was marked by exchanges around the objectives, services and missions of the CFCIM, a partnership agreement was signed between the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco and the Council of Region of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra.
