 In a meeting with the President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs and his accompanying delegation, the Secretary-General of the workers Union in the Canary Islands expressed her willingness to make the necessary efforts to bridge the gap between the parties concerning autonomy, especially after the removal within the United Nations of the possibility to hold a referendum of self-determination.



Ms. Alicia Rodríquez Betancourt said: "I am grateful for the visit of members of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs. they explained their program aimed at solving the problem suffered by the Saharans. We, the General Labour Union are ready to cooperate with all possible means."

Speaking about the meeting in Tenerife with the Secretary-General of the General Labour Union in the Canary Islands, Ould errachid said that this union officials promised to "support self-government, and initiatives aimed at reaching a definitive solution to this issue, based on brotherhood and peace with our brothers in Polisario ", given that the goal was is reach " full reconciliation ", as called for in the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs

In our meeting with them, they have provided us with sufficient explanations about their program aimed at resolving the problem, which affects Sahrawis.
