 The Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), represented by Saadani Maoulainine and Moulay Ahmed Mghizlate, is participating, as part of the official delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco, in the 62nd session of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), which began on Monday, June 5, and will be held until July 7, 2026, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
Opened with the presentation of the High Commissioner's annual report, the sessions of the first two days of the Council focused on current global crises, namely the war in Iran, the situation in Sudan, and the Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and in Israel.
The agenda for the current session of the Human Rights Council also includes the situation in other regions of the world, such as the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi.
Furthermore, this session will also discuss several themes, including the United Nations strategy for the inclusion of persons with disabilities, discrimination against women and girls, and the adverse impacts of climate change.
Several final reports will be presented, and the session will also appoint the mandate holders for the special procedures.
