The Polisario Front and its Secretary-General Mohamed Abdelaziz should recognize that the Sahrawi Republic "does not exist" , said the chairman of the newly appointed Royal Advisory Council for the Saharan affairs.

A Delegation from Corcas is visiting Spain to hold talks with the Government, political parties, associations, Moroccan residents in Spain and unions, in order to explain the motives behind corcas creation by Mohammed VI as well as the King’s new policy regarding the Western Sahara conflict.

Ould Errachid expressed his willingness to discuss the autonomy for the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty always with the Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz. However, he accused Polisario of being "very dogmatic and hostile to dialogue" stressing that dialogue rejection is "unacceptable in democracy".

In addition, the Corcas chairman sent a message to all organizations supporting Polisario across the world in order to meet and dialogue with them "in civilized manner," but said he had not yet received any answer.

Ould Errachid criticized the fact that the associations supporting the Sahrawi people focus their attention only on the refugees in Tindouf (Algeria), which "represent one third of the Saharan population." The president confirmed: "We are also Sahrawis," urging those associations " to
defend us, if they actually want to help "

On the other hand, the chief of Corcas, a body created by Mohamed VI, composed of Sahrawis, denied that the American Secretary of State had rejected to receive Corcas since, "We did not ask to go to the United States". He emphasized, however, that he would ask the Moroccan monarch to hold dialogue with the Algerian president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

  Autonomy "the only possible solution"

Ould Errachid also said that the failure to apply referendum in the Sahara is due to the fact that Sahrawis "do not live only on the territory that was under Spain," but are " scattered in four countries: Mali, Mauritania, Algeria and Morocco."

Ould Errachid explained that "borders were marked by the French and Spanish colonization” therefore " a referendum based on identification cannot be carried out," because "it is clear that the United Nations will not change the borders of four countries to hold a referendum." The President concluded that referendum is "not technically feasible".

Moreover, Ould Errachid said it the autonomy plan would be submitted to the United Nations before October, confirming that one of the reasons for the Corcas visit in Spain is to get access to the Spanish model of self-government.

Corcas is expected to meet tomorrow with officials of the Moroccan community living abroad.

According to Ould Errachid, the Corcas delegation will be received on Monday at the Foreign Ministry by the Spanish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Bernardo Leon, the Ministry has not issued any confirmation so far.

On the same day, corcas representatives will meet with officials of the Socialist Party. The chairman said he would be meeting the international political secretary.

On Tuesday, the delegation will be received by the House of Representatives (lower chamber), where they will discuss with members of the Committee in charge of foreign affairs, before meeting the Senate president, official spokesmen and the Chairman of the Spanish Moroccan friendship Group.
