Two representatives of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mrs. Saadani Maouelainin and Mr. Ahmed M'ghizlat participate with the Moroccan delegation in the 19th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC), which began February 27 and continues until March 23, 2012.

The mission of the delegation headed by Mr. Mustapha Ramid, Minister of Justice and Freedoms, is particularly important, since it takes place after the adoption of the new Moroccan constitution, and the coming into power of a new majority.

The new Constitution which unequivocally states in the preamble Morocco's commitment "to human rights as universally recognized," says that the country is committed to "protect and promote human rights and international humanitarian law and contribute to their development in their indivisibility and universality. "

In this session which will be attended by associative actors and usual petitioners, Morocco will present a review of various efforts and initiatives to strengthen national liberties and human rights at the constitutional and institutional levels.
