Members of the Delegation of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs participating in the 18th session of the UNHRC, from 12 to 30 September 2011 in Geneva, attended numerous conferences and meetings organized on the sidelines of the session.



Mrs. Saadani Maouelainin, Corcas member participated September 13 in the round table promoted by the Organization for Communication in Africa and the Promotion of International Economic Cooperation (OCAPROCE International). Many representatives of countries, institutions and NGOs participated in the roundtable on the theme "human rights, peace and reconciliation."

At the second meeting organized by the Agency for International Development (AID), September 22, 2011, concerning "the human dimension of conflict resolution", Corcas was represented by Mr. Ahmed Mguizlat. The speakers devoted their speeches at the meeting, held at the Palais des Nations, to the inhuman conditions prevailing in the Polisario camps in Tindouf, for over 30 years. In addition to Mr. Ahmed Mguizlate, academicians Lahcen Haddad, Ms. Mroue Rowaida, President of the Global Network of Support for the project of autonomy, Maurice Kata for International Action for Peace and Development in the Great Lakes AIPD, Mr. Hamdi Cherifi from the NGO "Al Intimae, organization for the development, human rights and coexistence" (ACAD) Laayoune, Morocco took part in this meeting.

The third meeting was held also by the Agency for International Development AID, in partnership with the Women's Action Union (UAF) and the International Democratic Centre (IDC). The conference at which the Corcas represented through Mrs. Saadani Maouelainin, was organized September 23, 2011 under the theme "protection of human rights in conflict situations." In addition to Mrs. Saadani Maouelainin the meeting was attended by: Mrs. Biro Diawara, the African Meeting on Human Rights (RADHO) Ismaili Lalla Fatma Union of Women's Action, Anna Maria Stam from the IDC and M . Mami Ahl El Ahmed from the IDC.

Ms. Saadani Maouelainin also represented the Council at the round table and interactive discussion organized September 23, 2011, by the Organization for Communication in Africa and the Promotion of International Economic Cooperation (OCAPROCE International) about " human rights, peace and security in Africa. " At this debate held at the Palais des Nations, Micheline Makou Juma, president and chief representative of the OCAPROCE to the United Nations in Geneva, David Fernandez Puyana representative of the Spanish Society for International Law of Human Rights at the United Nations in Geneva, Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani, lawyer from the Kashmiri Institute of International Relations, Mr. Deo Hakizimana, Founding President of the Independent Centre for Research and Initiatives for Dialogue (HRTC), Ouattara Mavin Abubakar, President of the NGO UVDT Ivory Coast, and Dr. Maiji Tramboo, Executive Director of the Euro-Kashmiri Center in Brussels participated in this event.

The OCAPROCE also organized a new round table September 26, 2011 about "human rights violations against women and children in conflict zones." Mrs. Saadani Maouelainin represented Corcas at the meeting, attended by Micheline  Makou Juma, president and chief representative of the OCAPROCE to the United Nations in Geneva, Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani, lawyer of the Kashmiri Institute of International Relations Ms. Luna D. Orikat, Academician of the University of Al-Quds in Palestine, Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, representing the WMC, Ouattara Mavin Aboubaker, President of the NGO UVDT Ivory Coast, and Mr. Sardar Amjad Yousaf , Executive Director of the Kashmiri Institute of International  Relations.

The Association of American Minorities for Human Rights organized the last debate of this series, in which participated Ms Saadani Maouelainin from Corcas. The meeting whose theme was "what to do for Durban?" was held September 27, 2011. M. A. Majid Trambo,  Permanent Representative of the Association of American Minorities for Human Rights (IHRAAM) to the United Nations in Geneva, Professor Alfred de Zayas, Geneva School of Public Law and Diplomacy and International Relations, Mr. Massoud Shadjareh from the Islamic  Coalition of Human Rights, Mr. Ronald Barnes occupying the Chair of the indigenous peoples and peoples at the IPNC and Mr. Leon Siu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Hawai.
