Corcas Secretary-General of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Mr. Maoulainain Ben Khalihenna said that the amnesty issued by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the benefit of a group of detainees from the southern regions of the Kingdom is "good news" that would give "more tranquility to the region."



Mr. Maoulainain said to the Spanish news agency (Europa Press) that the royal pardon "is very compassionate" taken by the King following the request made by the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs.

He emphasized that this amnesty will allow the inhabitants of the southern provinces to think calmly about autonomy in the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty, and "look at the future with calm and passion."

The royal pardon which was issued for 46 detainees was in response to a request from the Chairman and members of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs and in accordance with the attention and affection by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to his subjects and all the people of the southern provinces in particular.
 
Is noteworthy that the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs is an institution Founded by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to perpetuate the culture of consultation and encourage citizens to make concrete proposals and contribute to all issues related to territorial unity and economic, social and cultural development of the southern provinces of the Kingdom.
