"Polisario lost" according to Sahrawis leader

Victory spirit was obvious on the business man and politician Khlihenna Ould Errachid from "Erguibat" tribe, a major Sahrawi tribe loyal to his Majesry the King.

Khalihenna Ould Errachid, in a phone interview from Rabat, praised the importance of this " Royal political body ", which is composed of 114 members, including 14 women, representing "all the tribes and the Sahrawi community in the southern provinces," and charged with "preparing the political, economic, psychological and social conditions of enlarged autonomy decision by His Majesty the King. "

"Historic reconciliation"

Immediately after corcas establishment, other happy news came as Khalihenna Ould Errachid got royal amnesty for political prisoners.

There are 10 Saharans still in detention, in addition to 500 disappeared, according to Amnesty International, but it is only a matter of time: "We will look at this, no one will stay in prison, the will of His Majesty the King is to turn the past page once and for all, and there will be no problems related to human rights. "

On April 20, a report by Kofi Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations satisfactory to Khalihenna as well.

The report stressed the need to respect international law and, therefore, the right to self-determination, but it suggested taking into account the reality. For Kofi Annan, Morocco and Polisario should enter into negotiations. If the Security Council goes in the same direction, doors will open to international recognition of integration.

"Polisario lost the war," says Khalihenna "The United Nations recognizes that the war does not lead to any result, and independence has never been an option for Sahrawis who make up a mosaic of tribes distributed in several countries. It will be hazardous to create a second Darfur that would threaten the region’s stability."

They way is paved for the king’s initiative which "gave on March 25 the start of  historic, real and deep reconciliation for Sahrawis." For Khalihenna Ould Errachid who is quite optimist about the initiative, "If Polisario doest not reject, negotiations can be launched now to end at the beginning of October."

Khalihenna who received royal permission to meet with President Bouteflika added in this regard: "Corcas requests from Algeria to assist it in this task, and encourages Polisario to reach an agreement."

An autonomous Western Sahara will emerge within Morocco: "self-government will satisfy all the demands of Saharans" The No. 1 ally of the Alawite monarchy says , thanks to self-government " Saharans can handle their problems themselves, democratically," in the Moroccan way , more precisely .
