Recalling the dismantling by the Mauritanian and Malian forces of a drug trafficking network led by people from the polisario-run Tindouf camps, it underlined that this deviation towards organized crime started in the beginning of the nineties, after the Sahara's ceasefire was declared.

    The newsmagazine highlighted the obvious links between the polisario's leaders and AQIM, stressing that some of them, like Omar Sid'Ahmad Ould Hamma and El-Kouiry Ould Ney joined the group of Mokhtar Belmokhtar, one of the Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb's emirs.

    It said that Sixty Sahrawi former soldiers have joined AQIM which considers them as experienced recruits due to their training.
