Ould Er-Rachid, who was appointed earlier in the day by king Mohammed VI, added in a press conference that CORCAS, which will hold its first meeting in ten days, aims to "conduct a wise, credible and reconciliatory policy" in these provinces.

The Council main mission, CORCAS head told the audience, composed of national and international medias, is to defend Moroccan territorial integrity at the international level.

He also stressed on "the need to politically involve the populations," calling for "reactivating internal cohesion" in the southern provinces, while guaranteeing "effective participation" of all the sensibilities in the management of local affaires.
