The Malaysian delegation is on a working visit to Morocco June 9-11, 2014. His meeting with Khalihenna was the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the autonomy proposal presented by the Kingdom of Morocco to Security Council in April 2007 as a final solution to the conflict in the Sahara region.

Khalihenna said that the Security Council considers the autonomy project as credible and serious by resolution 1754 (2007) and the last resolution 2152 (2014).

During this interview, Khalihenna mentioned the various phases of decolonization of Morocco from 1956 to 1975. He also highlighted the genesis of the conflict during the Cold War and the various phases experienced by the conflict from 1975 until today.
