Khalihenna Ould Errachid, chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs received Friday, July 11, 2014 at the headquarters of the Council in Rabat, a parliamentary delegation from the Republic of Chad chaired by Mr. Abderrahmane Ahmed Choukou, MP and chairman of the Moroccan-Chadian parliamentary friendship group.


During this exchange attended by Dr. Maouelainin Ben Khalihenna Maouelainin, Corcas Secretary General and Mr. Khaddad Moussaoui, Vice-chairman, Khalihenna made a presentation in which he outlined the various stages of the Sahara conflict including conditions and circumstances of Polisario creation and the historical context of its development as well as the new Royal strategy to end the conflict, embodied in granting broad autonomy to the Sahara region.





Khalihenna also gave to members of the delegation a document prepared by the Council including an overview of the Sahara issue. He also invited the delegation to make a visit to the Sahara region to see firsthand the challenges faced by the Kingdom of Morocco for the development of this region in various fields.





For her part, Ms. Habsita Souleyman Alboukhari, member of the delegation and Vice-chairman of the Moroccan-Chadian parliamentary friendship group, expressed, on behalf of the delegation, satisfaction over the visit. She also expressed desire to see the development of bilateral relations between Morocco and Chad.
