The first edition of the remote cultural and artistic program organized during the lockdown due to coronavirus (Covid-19) was a “success”, indicated the regional director of Culture of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, Lahcan Chorfi.

This positive assessment is the fruit of the participatory approach adopted by the Direction with the participation of various associative actors, artists, writers and intellectuals, while ensuring compliance with the precautionary measures taken by the public authorities in order to reduce the spread of Covid-19, said Chorfi.

He noted that this diversified program responds to different cultural and artistic tastes and trends through seminars, poetry and musical evenings of various Moroccan musical arts representing Hassani, Amazigh, Andalusian and Arabic singing.

Nine evenings of poetry took place in which forty poets participated, six musical evenings and a dozen individual theatrical performances. In addition, there are four seminars on subjects related to the tangible and intangible heritage of the region, Hassani theater and place of the tent in the cultural heritage of the desert, he said.
The program also includes the organization by the regional institute of music and choreographic arts of a competition with the remote participation of students, added Mr. Chorfi.

These activities were available from April 25 to May 20, thanks to the technology of direct broadcasting via the official page of the Regional Directorate of Culture of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra on Facebook.
The manager also paid tribute to the executives and staff of the cultural sector in the various provinces of the region who contributed significantly to the success of this cultural and artistic program by accompanying all stages of its implementation.
This was carried out, explained the manager, to ensure coordination with participants and speakers in seminars, poetic and musical evenings and theatrical performances and supervise all operations related to the filming and publication of videos.
