The Spokesman declares: "As the President of the Republic reminded during his state visit to Tunis, on February 1, 2018:" the Maghreb will not succeed if it remains partitioned, if the road of East in West does not exist anymore, I know all the existing differences, I know all the reasons for not agreeing, but I also know all that the unity of the Maghreb can make
He added that "France has therefore taken note with great interest of the proposal made by the King of Morocco for a renewed dialogue with Algeria."
"France has always called for the strengthening of ties between Morocco and Algeria, which are major partners with which we have ties of exceptional density," said the spokesman of the Quai d'Orsay.
"France reiterates its support for the mediation efforts of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General", adding that it "welcomes the prospect of a preliminary round in Geneva next December ".
