The Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeals in Salé pronounced on Wednesday sentences ranging from two years to life imprisonment in the events related to dismantling the camp of Gdim Izik.


The court has sentenced to life imprisonment Abhah Sidi Abdellah Al Ismaili, Ibrahim Bani Mohamed Mohamed, Boutankiza Lbachir, Laâroussi Abdeljalil, Lakhfawni Abdallah Lamjid Sidi Ahmed and Sbaï Ahmed.

Ennaama Asfari, Banga Shikh, Bouryal Mohamed were sentenced 30 years and Hassan Dah, Boubit Mohamed Khouna, Faqir Mohamed, Haddi Mohamed Lamine Zaoui and Lahcen had sentence of 25 year imprisonment.

The court also sentenced 20-year-old prisoner Toubali Abdellah, Tahlil Mohamed and Khadda Lbachir, to 6-and-a-half-year prison term Dich Eddafi, four-and-a-half years El Bakkay Laarbi two years as well as Almachdoufi Ettaki and Zayyou Sidi Abderrahman.

The court also decided to drop the prosecution of some defendantb for "constituting a criminal gang" and  prosecute them for the rest of the crimes with the adaptation of acts, object of prosecution, for "violence against public forces in the performance of their duties, which resulted in injuries".

The Court decided to transfer the seized funds to the State and destroy the other objects seized. Moreover, the Court did not accede to civilian requests on the form and decided that the plaintiff bears associated costs.

The defendants were prosecuted for "criminal gangs and violence against police forces that led to the death with premeditation, mutilation of bodies and complicity".
