Polisario, supported by Algerian diplomats, has undergone a spectacular failure by organizing in Brussels on Thursday a meeting on the rights of Saharawi women alleging the Moroccan Sahara practices. A failure due to the fact that this event has had no response from MEPs.
Both separatist activists, who animated the new Algerian masquerade, presented to the audience a misleading and biased view of life of Sahrawis in the Sahara region south of Morocco.
Instead of mentioning the isolation and encirclement experienced by people living in the Tindouf camps, where they come from, they reported alleged abuses and suffering that do not reflect the momenbtum of openness, progress and serenity enjoyed by the community in the Sahara region.
The audience was composed mainly of supporters of the separatist thesis headed by the Spanish MEP Paloma Lopez Bermejo from the Spanish radical left. The latter seems to have taken note of the conclusions of the General Attorney of the European Court of Justice. Indeed,he has recently confirmed that Polisario Front has no right to speak on behalf of the community of the Sahara region.
It is worth noting that this meeting was organized under the aegis of the GUE / NGL Group at the European Parliament. This group is well known for its hostile positions to the Kingdom of Morocco and its territorial integrity.
