The final statement of the 60th Afro-Asian Bandung Conference, held April 18 -19 in Kathmandu under theme " Bandung Vision, 60 later: Responding to New Challenges", praised the autonomy plan for Sahara, under Moroccan sovereignty as "reasonable" and "peaceful".


"The Conference praises the reasonable and peaceful initiative proposed by Morocco in order to settle the Sahara conflict, ensuring the Moroccan Sahara population the means to manage their own affairs," reads the final statement of the international conference organized by the Nepalese organization for the solidarity of Afro-Asian peoples, as a commemoration of the Bandung Conference in April 1955.
The Final statement also expressed "strong concerns" about growing tensions caused by the increase in terrorist attacks in the Sahel-Saharan region and West African coast."
 
The opening ceremony of this international meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister of Nepal, Sushil Koirala, elected Mr. Talaa Atlassi Saoud, President of the Moroccan Committee for Peace and Solidarity, member of Committee Chair of the Conference, which also included representatives of Egypt, India, Sudan and Nepal.
In a speech on the occasion, Mr. Saud Atlassi reiterated Morocco's commitment to promote the spirit of Bandung, including the urgent need to preserve the territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty of nations and defense and safeguarding the ideals of peace and progress
 
The 60th Bandung Conference was attended by presidents and vice-presidents of peace commissions and Solidarity of Morocco, Vietnam, Tunisia, Russia, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sudan, Japan, India and Mongolia. President of Nepal, Ram Baran Yadav, received on Sunday at the presidential palace, the delegations taking part in the conference.
