The phone interview last Saturday between King Mohammed VI and the Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki -moon "clarifies issues and positions on the eve of crucial deadlines," writes the newspaper Thursday “Huffington Post” in its French version.

These deadlines are the report of the UN and the extension of the MINURSO mandate, said the publication, adding that the Algerian diplomacy, a party to the conflict, which endeavored to extend the mandate to include human rights, failed to change the UN rules and a "clear and categorical refusal of this initiative" were made.

"Changing UN missions without Morocco’s approval can be a dangerous acceleration of events that can lead either to impasse and radicalization of positions " , notes the author of the article , noting that to avoid this scenario, HM King "seems to have found it useful and appropriate to clarify the issues " with the Secretary- General of the United Nations.

The Sovereign has taken the initiative " to give time to the various international players in this crisis to measure the consequences and challenges" in order to " avoid mistakes that may lead to a point of no return " .

The newspaper points out  that many countries begin to withdraw their recognition to the Polisario separatists , thanks to the active diplomacy of Morocco , which managed to convince the major international policy partners of the autonomy plan.

" Morocco has to prevent efforts to harm national unity ," the newspaper said , highlighting Morocco's political and diplomatic desire to counter Polisario lobbying and its Algerian sponsors before a number of circles of influence and power in Europe .
