Greece qualifies the Moroccan autonomy initiative as a "serious and credible approach" to reach a solution to the Sahara issue, said, on Wednesday in Rabat, Greek minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias.

"Greece considers the Moroccan initiative (for autonomy) submitted to the United Nations as a serious and credible approach to reach a solution" to the Sahara issue, underlined Dendias at a press briefing after his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita. The Greek official also noted that his country "supports the efforts of the United Nations aimed at reaching a just, realistic, durable and mutually acceptable solution" to the Sahara issue in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions. "We encourage all parties to continue their commitment in a spirit of realism and compromise," said Dendias, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom.
