"The speech by King Mohammed VI, which is a hand extended from Morocco to Algeria, is an initiative of peace and gesture of high political significance that bears the mark of the great Heads of State. Everyone agrees on it," Minister of African Integration, Ally Coulibaly, told the press in Abidjan in response to the address by HM the King to the Nation on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Green March.

"President Alassane Ouattara salutes this gesture, which provides information on HM the King's view and shows the Sovereign's commitment to peace and dialogue," added the Ivorian minister.

Establishing a mechanism for dialogue and consultation between Morocco and Algeria without any intermediary is a "particularly interesting proposal that can open new perspectives in terms of peace and development in the Maghreb ".

The proposal of the Sovereign, which is "in continuity with the logic that guided the return of Morocco to the AU", is likely to end the blockage and immobility between the two countries .

"Côte d'Ivoire, a friendly country in Morocco, is encouraging King Mohammed VI to continue on this path with the extended hand, because only dialogue will resolve a conflict as old as that of the Sahara". "If these two countries agree, it will be very good news not only for the Maghreb, but for the development of all Africa," concluded the Ivorian Minister of African Integration.
