HM King Mohammed VI received on Wednesday in Abidjan President of the Republic of Angola, H.E. João Lourenço, on the sidelines of the Sovereign's participation in the 5th African Union - European Union Summit.


On this occasion, the two heads of state welcomed the opening of a new era in bilateral relations and agreed to create new opportunities for cooperation in all areas.


The two heads of state, who expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations, decided to strengthen political dialogue and to boost multi-sectoral economic cooperation through the sharing of know-how and the effective involvement of the business communities of both countries.


In this respect, HM the King invited President Lourenço to pay an official visit to Morocco in the very near future. The Angolan President accepted the Sovereign’s invitation.


The audience took place in the presence of HM the King’s advisor, Fouad Ali El Himma, and minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, Nasser Bourita.


On the Angolan side, the audience was attended by foreign affairs minister Manuel Domingos Augusto and minister and director of the Office of the President of the Republic, Edeltrudes Costa.
